Mitsubishi Lancer Final Edition
The Lancer is a superb car to drive, yet equally so to be driven in. Its lines encompass speed and performance, yet its drivetrain technology is engineered to be as adept at purring as roaring.
It’s wider, longer, roomier than all its forebears yet in tight city streets more manoeuvrable. Lancer has been designed to thrive in the most demanding environment of all; the real world. Its 5-star host of active and passive safety measures are designed to keep you and your loved ones from harms way.
Lancer – Power
2.0L MIVEC – GSR
The Lancer’s 2.0L MIVEC Aluminium-block engine is an advanced design that’s both lightweight and powerful. It incorporates variable valve lift and timing on both exhaust and intake valves, delivering 115kW’s of power and driveability to meet your needs whatever the circumstances.
Lancer Sedan GSR
- 7.2L/100km* fuel rating
*DISCLAIMER: The fuel economy figure gives you an indication of the fuel consumption based on international rolling road test-lab drive cycle testing - UN ECE R101 (European NEDC), ADR (Australia), and JC08 (Japan). These tests are designed to test fuel consumption in lab conditions to make comparisons easier. Actual fuel economy will depend on a wide range of factors including your driving style and habits, speed and distance travelled, vehicle load, tyre pressure and level of maintenance.
An engine is only as good as its transmission and in the Lancer you get some of the best transmission technology in the world.
INVECS III CVT Transmission –
If you favour an automatic transmission the new lancer range benefits from the smoothness and efficiency of continuous variable transmission (CVT). CVT keeps the engine close to its level of peak efficiency while the advanced adaptive INVECS III transmissions tailors its response to the drivers particular driving style. In addition, the 6-speed Sports Mode allows you to select and hold and chosen gear ratio.
Mitsubishi’s Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) unibody design is a highly rigid shell where the super-strength cabin acts as a safety cage. In the event of an accident, the impact-absorbing crushable zones and reinforced critical points, along with the lower centre of gravity, all combine to deliver superior safety performance. The RISE body system also contributes to the Lancer’s exceptional road handling.
All modern Lancers come equipped with SRS airbags to provide protection in the event of a collision. Driver and front passenger have front and dual-stage airbags. All Lancers have side and curtain airbags for front and rear passengers to protect from side-impact collisions. All Lancers also feature a driver knee airbag that works in unison with pretensioners seatbelts with force-limiters to protect the legs and pelvis from injury.
The new Lancer was designed for winding roads and tight corners. As well as Active Stability Control (ASC) and Active Traction Control (ATC) providing superior road handling and control, the Lancer’s ABS system gives you enhanced manoeuvrability under braking. The Lancer’s intelligent 4-channel, 4-sensor braking system (ABS) monitors different wheel speeds and activates braking to individual wheels when required. For further safety and security, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) automatically increases rear-braking force on demand, reducing front brake wear and improving fade resistance.
All Lancer models come with all-wheel independent suspension featuring MacPherson struts with coil springs, front and rear stabilisers and front suspension brace for responsive cornering and straight-line stability.
Active Stability Control
Active Stability Control provides the driver with greater control in tough cornering situations reducing the chance of under-steer or over-steer by adjusting engine power and applying the brakes independently on each wheel. The result – a tighter safer drive.
Active Traction Control (ATC)
ATC is an intelligent system that automatically controls engine output so that driving wheels are prevented from spinning. When it senses loss of traction in an independent wheel it automatically applies braking force to that wheel while sending extra power to other wheels with traction to keep it moving.
Mutlti-Mode Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
Lancer’s intelligent 4-channel, 4-sensor braking system monitors different wheel speed and activates brakes to individual wheels when required. It allows you to keep manoeuvrability under heavy braking and slippery road conditions.
Electronic Brakeforce Distribution
EBD automatically increases rear-braking force on demand, reducing front brake wear and improving fade resistance.
