Liz Vowles - Fleet Specialist
The adage is as true today as it has always been: Next to salaries, the largest expense a company incurs in putting a team in the field is the company vehicle. It’s not surprising then that establishing and maintaining a fleet on the road can be a demanding task. In a day and age where budgets are continually getting tighter ‘Total Cost Of Ownership or TCO is an integral part of the procurement process. However, there is a plethora of considerations, requirements not to mention organisation, logistics and administration that comes with starting, growing or replacing a fleet of vehicles.
One person who knows this all too well is Liz Vowels, Bay City Mitsubishi’s dedicated Fleet Manager. Liz has been with Bay City Mitsubishi for 10 years during which time she has worked with a number of companies with fleets of all shapes and sizes.
“The Mitsubishi range offers excellent value for money, when compared to other makes and models” says Liz. “From safety to efficiency, technology, servicing costs, warrantee and environmental friendliness, Mitsubishi’s tick the boxes.” Having already been put under strict scrutiny, the Mitsubishi range has proven itself to a number of large companies who have opted to use Mitsubishi as their major fleet vehicle.
Providing companies with a local Dealership contact, Liz provides service and support tailored to the specific needs of each company including finding the best deals for small to medium enterprises through to large fleet operators, and is able to offer National Competitive Fleet pricing through Mitsubishi New Zealand.
Fleet customers describe Liz as their ‘go to’. From providing the latest information on the Mitsubishi range including specifications and demonstrations to organising new vehicles, servicing and grooming. Having a local and dedicated representative can help alleviates the work which comes with running a large fleet of vehicles so that managers can concentrate on the day to day running of their business and projects.
To minimise the downtime of a vehicle or team member being off the road, the smooth coordination, distribution and transition from existing fleet vehicles into new ones is vital. Liz works with companies to get the vehicles to where they need to go, ready to go, overseeing the delivery process of all new Mitsubishi vehicles into the company’s fleet nationwide, as well as the returning of ex-lease vehicles back to the lease companies. Arranging accessories and their fitment, sign writing and any other requirements the fleet my need are all part of the service. “My aim is to make the entire process as hassle free as possible, no matter what the fleet size.” She says.
Bay of Plenty’s fast paced growth is attracting more companies to Tauranga, and as we all know strong local economies are built by businesses working together to keep profits local. Bay City Mitsubishi strive to eliminate the need for businesses to “shop out of town” by providing great service and competitive pricing right here in the Bay

When asked why they had chosen Mitsubishi as a predominant fleet vehicle, Paul Knight their Operations Manager said “price, suitability for purpose, durability (tough enough meet the demands of their staff) and the service and relationship that has been established over the years working with Bay City Mitsubishi.
